Knitting Frenzy

I've been knitting these past few months and finally have some FO's to show:First up is a new scarf knit from Plymouth Confusion yarn in their Kaos series. I love how all the different yarns are already put together for you and you just knit and knit and knit! And it makes this varigated scarf. I have another skein in pink to do next.
I joined the "Block of Month" club at my LYS - The Yarn Haven. The green is the January block and the pink is the February block. These are both knit from Malabrigo which is kettle dyed merino wool from Uruguay. So soft! After a year, we'll have 12 blocks that then get knit together to form a small throw. Now to get started on March!

Happy Valentine's Day

Here are a couple of the cards I made to send to friends and family this year.
It's always dark when I get home from work, so these pictures are not the best. I hope you enjoy the holiday!

Cards from Scraps

This one is my rendition of the sketch on Becky's blog that I mentioned yesterday.

This one doesn't follow the sketch idea, but I loved this ribbon so much (WalMart)! Both cards are made from my scrap stack. Go ahead, give it a try!

Online Journaling

I'm taking an online class from cre8it for the next 3 weeks to (hopefully) get me in the habit of working in an art journal every day (or at least on a regular basis). I'm enjoying having an assignment and love that we are working in bright colors!
As for my scraps - they are now organized in folders that look like this:
This is the top view:
I was surprised to find that I had so many stamped images in my scrap stack! I made a separate folder just for them. My scraps are dividied into colors: purple, blue, tan/gray, green, pink/red, yellow, vellum, metallic, and black. My friend Becky has a challenge on her blog to use your scraps to make cards each week from a SCS sketch. I was inspired by her organization and felt it would be a great way to use up some of the paper that's taking over my home.

Club Scrap Cards

My husband had to work this weekend, so I grabbed a few things and trekked to Middle TN to spend the weekend with him at his apartment. It was a nice, relaxing time. If I stay home, I can always find something (or hear something calling to me!) that needs/should be done. When making the cards, I wanted to not do my typical "multiples" but make singles. The base for all cards is from the Serengeti collection at Club Scrap. It's a great textured cardstock in teal blue and dark brown - very striking! For the card above, I stamped the scroll stamp (from Christine Adolph) as a background and used the diecut and ribbon from Club Scrap. These two cards both use stamps from Papertrey Ink.
The image on the card on the left is the anniversary stamp from Club Scrap. The one on the right is another die cut.
I've been pondering how to organize some of my "stuff". My next post will show you what I did with this box of paper scraps!

Last of the knitting for 2007

Last night I finished the twirly scarf for my sister (just a tab bit late for Christmas). It's cloudy today so the pictures aren't that great.
Below is the start of the the Keyhole Scarf (you can find many patterns on the web). I'm using one from Farmhouse Yarns, knit on Lumpy Bumpy in bold, bright colors (my favorite!).
I didn't get to knit as much as I wanted in 2007. I'll try to change that in 2008! Here's to a safe, happy, and healthy New Year to all of you.
